Internationally known Egyptian actor Omar Al Shareef has called on everyone who negatively criticized him for his recent actions of slapping a journalist trying to take a picture with him, to take his health condition and old age into consideration as a reason for his occasional outbursts.

The actor stated that despite the fame he has achieved he still goes around without personal bodyguard an indication that he likes to be close to people and does not mind people walking up to him and taking pictures with him.

The actor’s official media spokesperson, Enas Bakr, stated that what led Omar to act in such a manner is the way some people annoy and irritate him during social events. Enas clarified that due to the actor’s old age and health condition he has a short temper and cannot handle people pressuring him.

Enas added that she attended a number of entertainment events with Omar and witnessed several unusual incidents the actor experiences like a woman grabbing him by his shirt and tie. Enas stressed that people should differentiate between admiration and pressuring an actor. She added that Egyptian actor Adel Imam is always accompanied by five bodyguards to avoid being in such circumstances of people shoving and pushing to get close to him, whereas Omar prefers to walk alone.

Recently during the Doha Film Festival, a young female journalist caused Omar to lose his temper by pressing and insisting to take a photo with him without waiting her turn leading him to slapped her in front of everyone.
