Egyptian actor Noor Al Sharif will play the title character in a series about Antarah Bin Shaddad, according to the Arabic daily Al Rayah.
The upcoming work was scripted by Yusri Al Jundi and produced by the Cairo Audiovisual Co.
The character Antarah Bin Shaddad is considered one of the most important figures in Egyptian cinema history.
The late Egyptian actor Siraj Munir won fame in the 1940s for playing te character in two films. The late actor Farid Shawqi also performed in two similar films in the 1960s.
The latest appearance of Sharif on the big screen was in the film Al A’shiqan (Two Lovers) and on TV in the series Al Rajol Al Akhar (The Other Man) along with Mervat Amin, Hala Shihah and Ahmed Zaher - Albawaba.com
