Egyptian actress Nermin Al Faqi has joined the stars of the series Rajol Min Zaman Al Awlamah (Man from Globalization Era), the first TV drama to directly tackle the topic of globalization.

The series writer and director Esam Al Shamma’ told the daily Al Sharq Al Awsat that the series “tells about incidents that occurred between the 20th and 21st centuries and the globalization storm that raged during this era, affecting Egyptian society at all levels as well as each of our daily lives.”

The series, which will be shot in two weeks, is about the Rudwan family, whose social status greatly improves, changing their thoughts and behavior.

Shamma’ said the series constituted a revolution in TV drama in terms of content and handling, because of tension in the rhythm depicting the anxiety among the characters.

This series represents the first time a TV series has sought the help of scene coordinator Rawya Bayyadh. It was the first time for a TV series to be shot inside malls, which have recently mushroomed in Cairo.

The series, produced by the Egyptian TV production department at the cost of 3.5 million pounds, consists of 15 episodes and costars Salah Al Saadani and Ahmed Zaher - Albawaba.com
