Lebanese singer Nelly Makdasi has revealed that she does not consider herself a seductive singer and does not intend to seduce her fans by the way she dances nor the cloths she wears. The singer stressed that her style on stage and in music videos are natural and that she dances to the rhythm of the music and is spontaneous in her moves.
Nelly noted that the secret behind her success is basically true emotions in the sense that when she sings she feels the words of the song making her performance genuine, which in turns leads people to like her more. Nelly added that she does not support the new wave of female singers who use their bodies to gain fame and feels that their style has nothing to do with real art.
According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, on the other hand, the singer stressed that it is not wrong for a female singer to extenuate her femininity and appear beautiful, but there must exist a talent to sing to go along to make the picture complete.
Makdasi recently backed out on her previous decision to leave the production company Rotana. Extreme disputes had erupted between the singer and the company that almost led to breaking the contract between them.
Nelly had surprised audience around the Arab world with her decision of staying with Rotana, stressing that the dark cloud had passed and both sides were able to come to an agreement resolving all misunderstandings.
On their part, Rotana had announced Nelly’s return on its daily news broadcasts and held an interview with her, where she expressed her joy at being on good terms with the company and being back. Salem Al Huneidi, an official at Rotana, has revealed that the company is very happy to have Nelly back and that the disputes that had occurred were a result of simple misunderstandings.
