Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi is holding a concert with singer Fadel Shaker next week at the Oscar Palace night club in northern Beirut, where she will sing a collection of her new songs while Fadel is going to sing a group of his songs from his latest album “Sidi Rohi”.
Nawal found out that the low sales of her latest album was due to piracy. Internet hackers managed to copy her latest album and distribute the fake copies. Nawal asked her distributing company to start taking action against this intellectual property violation and have those responsible prosecuted.
Since the release of her latest album “Aineik Kaddabeen” (Lying Eyes), after 2 years of absence, Nawal is regaining her glory and success like never before. Arab radio stations and satellite television channels are broadcasting her songs heavily since the moment her album was released.
Nawal flew to Egypt to attend the party held in celebration of the release of her album in Cairo last week and the place was crowded with fans and journalists. The Voice of Tomorrow, Australian based radio, interviewed Nawal to talk about her album and cooperation with Pepsi. Nawal revealed that she is going to do another Pepsi ad to promote diet Pepsi.
Nawal is also participating in big concerts; on August 13th she will be participating in the Pepsi festival in al-Menia and a second concert in Alexandria on the 27th in Egypt. The prominent Lebanese singer is currently supervising the montage of her video clip “Aineik Kaddabeen”, which is expected to be released on Mazikka and LBC channels soon. Nawal's new work includes 12 songs sung in different accents that vary between Egyptian, Lebanese, and Khaligi (Gulf). Nawal will be filming four of her new songs in the form of musical video clips.
Nawal had stressed that the delay for the release was due to the fact that she had heard two new songs and was very impressed with them and so decided to record them and include them in the album.
Nawal denied circulating rumors that the delay of the album was due to disputes between her and Muhsin Jaber, owner of Alam El Phan. Nawal noted that the two are on excellent terms and she holds high respect for him and his company. She added that the delay was in her advantage because it means a better quality for her work.
Nawal revealed that she is not thinking to do any duet in the time being, saying that her first experience with Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury was very successful but any other experience must be thoroughly studied. -Albawaba.com
