The results of the poll the lebanese radio station the Voice of Music underwent throughout the month of December have showed that Lebanese have chosen singer Nawal Al Zoughbi as their number one female star for the year 2004 and Milhim Zein for the male category. Nawal’s song “Ainaik Kadabeen” (Lying Eyes) was chosen as best Lebanese song during 2004.
According to the London based Elaph, Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram’s music video “Loun Iyounak” (The Color of your Eyes) directed by Nadine Libky won number one music video for the year. When the results came out, the radio announcer made a personal phone call to Nawal and congratulated her on winning and the singer expressed her gratitude towards everyone who voted for her and stressed that she will keep working hard to meet their expectations.
Nawal revealed that she has not yet signed any contract with a production company despite the enormous amounts of offers she has been receiving. She added that she produces for herself at the meantime and the matter of not finding the right company has nothing to do with her putting demanding conditions. The singer stressed that she wants a production company that will help enhance her career and protect the reputation she has worked so hard to achieve.
The singer’s schedule for 2005 is doubled than the previous year, starting with a trip to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Egypt to record a new song that will be released as a single. Nawal will also begin working on her upcoming album, which is scheduled to be launched during the summer season.
