The moment the International Soft Drink Company Coca Cola announced that its new face for their television commercials is Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, different rumors began regarding the wage the singer received. Some claimed that the singer received 2 million US$, , which is one of the highest rates given to any Arab singer by an international company, while others stated that the wage Nancy was offered is only 1.5 million US$.
According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, the real wage Nancy was given is not known exactly, but strong sources reveal that the singer received less than one million US$ and the commercial that was made only cost half a million US$.
The commercial was filmed in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Cairo and the theme is that of young people enjoying a good time sitting around relaxing and drinking Coca Cola. The singer revealed that she was very interested in doing the commercial especially due to the fact that the idea of it is very similar to a music video. The singer underwent a major makeover to appear in a new look especially for the commercial.
