Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram has signed a contract with the international soft drink company Coca Cola to be its official spokesperson for the Arab world and abroad. Nancy was offered a very generous amount, which was not revealed, to be the star of the soft drink company for the upcoming few years.
According to the London based weekly, Laha, the first commercial for Nancy will be shot in September under the direction of an international director. The singer revealed that this is a major opportunity for her and proves that her popularity is widely spread throughout the world. Nancy added that if she was not capable of being a talented singer, she would not have been chosen by such a prestigious company to be their official spokesperson.
Ajram is in the process of shooting a new music video for from her latest album, and will be directed by Nadine Labky. It was revealed that there is a scheme of not airing the song on any satellite music channel, in order to have the song “Ah Wi Nus” take its full share, especially due to the fact that it has so far witnessed enormous success in terms of words, music, and filming.
Shortly after Ajram started her singing career, many newspapers and cultured people started attacking her and considering her as one of the main reasons of deteriorated Arab culture and taste. Some even went as far as accusing her to be a major part of the western conspiracy against Arab culture and a major tool to destroy it.
Even thought Nancy is a real gifted singer, she was attacked by her fellow colleagues accusing her of performing a cheap show of seductive dancing. She even got several prizes that prove that our musical originality and personality has been lost forever. The only thing that would top it all is giving Nancy the prize of the Golden wash-bowl! -Albawaba.com
