Prominent Egyptian actress Nadia Al-Jundi denied rumors about her begging the Egyptian Minister of Information Dr. Mamdouh Biltagi and crying in front of him to allow her television drama series “Mishwar Imra'a” (A Woman’s Journey) to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan on the Egyptian television Network. According to the London based daily, Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Nadia denied these news and said that she only went to the minister to clarify that her drama deserves to be shown during Ramadan because it is her first appearance in the last 25 years.
Nadia clarified that there is no resemblance between her drama and Egyptian actor Nour El Sherif’s drama entitled [El Haj Mitwali], which was aired two years ago, and that the only thing in common was that the key personality in both dramas was getting married more than once, but still the leading part in Mitwali was a man and in hers is a woman.
From her side Nadia denied that heading to TV drama was because she was not being popular any more in Cinema, adding that she will be back with a surprise to her fans next year. The new movie will include a nice group of actors from the young generation.
Recently, a fight broke out between Nadia and the director of "Mishwar Imra'a" when the actress appeared in a very revealing dress showing most of her body parts. Nadia was to shoot the remaining scenes of her drama on the beach of Al Ain Al Sukhna but once she appeared on the set the director went into a rage over her dress and began shouting demanding that she changes it immediately.
Nadia refused to change her dress stressing that most of the actresses in television dramas are wearing revealing cloths that are nothing compared to hers. The director stressed that he will not begin shooting unless Nadia wears something that is not insulting to viewers during the holy month.
Nadia insisted on keeping her dress on arguing that the drama is aired at a late time and that will not affect anyone, but the entire cast expressed the same view as the director forcing Nadia to submit to the demand and finally change into a more decent dress. -Albawaba.com
