Egyptian singer Mustafa Amar reiterated his concern and fear of TV drama which he will debut in through the series Wa Hallakat al Toyoor Nahwa al Sharq (Birds Headed Towards East) which he began shooting this week.
“I couldn’t resist the story of the series when the director Hani Ismael offered it to me,” Amar told the daily al Gomhuria.
He added, “the series theme, scenario and the circumstances surrounding us these days have attracted me. So I try to offer through it something for our Egyptian citizenship. Even the film Ashab Walla Business (Friends or Business) tackled the issue of martyrdom before the Israeli invasion of the Palestinian cities.”
The Egyptian singer will not sing in the series because according to him, “the series is a patriotic work and not a show. There is no room for singing as the role is about a patriotic epic.”
Responding to a question about the film Qalb Garie (Brave Heart) he is currently shooting, Amar said, “the film tackles the daily issues including terrorism, which is on top of the list. It is written by me, scripted by Ahmed al Beih, directed by Mohammed al Najjar and costarring Yasmin Abdel Aziz and Hasan Hosni. The film includes one song bearing the same title and composed by me.” -- Albawaba.com
