The young Egyptian actress Muna Zaki sent her regrets for not participating in the TV series Thawret al Harim (Women Revolt), after she was nominated by director Hani Ismael to play the starring role along with Mahmoud Yasin, Fadia Abdel Ghani and Hadi al Gayyar.

The shooting of the series which was scripted by Hasan al Mamlouk, is scheduled to begin at the end of this month.

Thawret al Harim is about the problems of modern woman particularly in the countryside; the phenomenon of quit going to school among girls and the depravation of women in the countryside from legacy and other rights while women in the cities enjoy such rights.

“I sent my regrets for not participating in the series because I am busy with shooting the film Mafia under the direction of Sherif Arafa in addition to my participation in the play Kidah OK which is being staged now,” Zaki told the London-based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.

Zaki is playing the starring role in the film Mafia along with the actors Ahmed al Saqqa, Mustafa Shaaban and Ahmed Risq.

The film scripted by Mamdouh al Adel, is set in the southern Egyptian City of Aswan and in the Italian capital Rome. The film director Sherif Arafa sought the assistance of some foreign experts for his animation films -- Albawaba.com
