After the great controversy that followed the famous Egyptian actress Muna Zaki’s latest film “Ihki Ya Shahrazad” (Talk Shahrazad), which got her fans upset with her performance due to the fact that everyone is used to her taking on sweet and innocent roles. Zaki’s fans were not used to the seductive and sexy roles with kissing scenes which were all included in her last film “Ihki Ya Shahrazad”.
Muna also faced negative criticism due to the hot sexy scenes that were made to promote the new film; some of Zaki’s fans created a site on “Facebook” called “Ya Khasartek Ya Muna” (Muna What a Shame). The fans are calling out to people to boycott the film because they considered Muna as a leading star of ‘decent cinema’ and requested that a new film be created to show the clean and appropriate image of Muna.
On her behalf, Zaki stated that the term “Decent Cinema” is not found anywhere and that she never called considered herself as the star of that term; on the contrary, people of the press have stuck that term to her. Zaki said that she had put boundaries for herself since she started her acting career, but she never thought it was wrong and daring what many other actors have done in films. She feels that the actor has the responsibility to bring to the viewers an honest picture.
As for her role in the film “Ihki Ya Shahrazad”, Zaki said that she doesn’t consider her role in the film seductive or more daring than any of her previous roles. The only difference in this particular film which led many viewers to thing it is more seductive is that it talks more about women’s sexual needs. The film stars Muna Zaki, Mahmoud Hamidah, Hasan Al Radad and Sawsan.
