Moroccan director Wlad Sayyed was donated a certificate of appreciation for his film Aduo al Reeh (Wind Enemy) at the 16th Freeborg Festival held in Switzerland, according to the daily al Hayat.
The festival this year
South Korea won the majority of important prizes at the festival which headed for the south, including the grand prize for the director Park Kee Yang for his film Camel. The jury announced that it had donated the prize for this film because it depicts the human feelings in a social, economic and human orientation. The film also won the prize for best script for the in-depth simplicity with which the screenwriter tackled the topic and his careful study of the characters.
The film Love Island from South Korea also won a special prize for the director Song Jon for his closeness to woman’s feelings. The prize of the jury of the International Federal Committee for Cinema Press went to the same film also because it came closer to the familiar and human faces on the silver screen.
The Chinese film Monster won Don Qishot prize, while the Prize of Jury Committee for Press went to both the short Indian film After the Shock and the Chinese film Struggle.
Shanger Prize, which is special prize for the youth, donated by a jury comprising of young members and aims at discovering young talents went to the Senegalese film The Price of Forgiveness directed by Mansour Sora Wade. The same committee donated also a certificate of appreciation to the Argentine film today Only while the Audience Jury’s prize went to the Senegalese film The Price of Forgiveness to be shared with the film House Located at the Sea- side from Venezuela.
These prizes indicate that the festival gives special care for the youth and freedom cinema, which was dubbed as South cinema -- Albawaba.com
