After a six year absence Egyptian/Nubian singer Mohamed Mounir has returned with an album that is already storming the charts in Egypt and the UAE.
“I waited until I was certain that all the songs on the album were worth releasing after such a long time,” says Mohamed.
The album “Fi Ishk El Banat” has aroused a controversy. Mohamed was warned by friends not to include the title track “Fi Ishk Al Banat” (My Love for Girls) because the lyrics, born from Southern Egyptian Folklore, talk about: “Kissing the lips of the beloved.” But the track, which was released on CD only, has turned to be an overnight sensation.
