King of controversey Milhim Barakat's at it again slagging off his peers like it's going out of fashion.
The Lebanese music legend has got his claws in to Egyptian crooner Amr Diab, saying that he'd rather face a spell in the notorious American prison at Guantanamo Bay, than listen to his records. Apparently true artists like Barakat can't listen to Diab. It just isn't possible.
The anti-charm offensive has also targeted Barakat's fellow Lebanese Haifa Wehbe, who's letting herself down by gaining weight after her divorce and should get back to her trim best as soon as possible.
Speaking of the national talent in Lebanon, he said that only he, Najwa Karam, Assi Helani and Wael Kfoury are the only real Lebanese singers that sing the local dialect. Lebanese singers Ragheb Alama, Wael Jassar, whom he never liked, Nancy Ajram and Elissa, he describes as traitors to the Lebanese song for singing in other dialects like Egyptian and Khaliji (Gulf).
As laudable as it is to speak one's mind openly, the Liam Gallagher of the Middle East act is already wearing thin with some of Milhim's peers, who increasingly regard him as cruel and aloof.
