What's wrong with a celebrity having a "gay" old time?

Lebanese singer Maya Diab recently announced that she will be performing at Posh Rooftop in Beirut on Friday, 9 September, but her announcement was met with very harsh criticism from her conservative fans and Al Jaras Magazine's vocal Editor-in-Chief Nidal al Ahmadiyyeh.

Why, you ask? Because her venue of choice is a popular partying spot for gays in Lebanon, and Maya's fans didn't quite understand why she would want to first: perform in a nightclub, and second: perform for gay people!

But the diva - who frequently preaches against judging others - wasn't about to let this go. She posted an Instagram post reprimanding the "sick-minded people who are judging others."

She told the haters that they "need to open their minds and accept others in order to live in peace," while stressing that music knows no race or religion.
