May Kasab, “The viewers prefer comedy”

The young artist May Kasab started her career singing and then made a name for herself as a talented actress.

According to the London daily Elaph, May is a natural in playing dramatic roles and fans often think of her as sister or a daughter.

 May is filming her new television drama series “Karima Karima” which stars famous Egyptian comedian Majidah Zaki and will be aired on Abu Dhabi channel during the upcoming Ramadan season.

The story of the new drama series is about a woman named “Karima” played by Majidah. 

Karima’s husband leaves her and their children to marry a wealthy second wife played by May.

Karima's husband then dies and leaves her and their children a large inheritance, and Karima goes to war with her late husband’s second wife. The disputes between the two wives are portrayed in a comedian style.

 Majidah is a great comedian and a talented actress that is capable of plays a multitude of roles, said May, adding that she and May could hardly stop laughing at points during filming.

 

 May said that she was chosen for the new role in “Karima, Karima” because of her role in the sitcom “Tamer and Shawqiyah” in which she played the character “Shawqiyah.”  May also said that she would rather play comedic roles because viewers prefer these characters over corrupt businesspeople that advantage of their power.

 May also starred in the film “Bobos” with the great Egyptian comedian Adel Imam and Egyptian actress Yusra.

May said that as soon as she was offered the role in the film she accepted.

As for now Yusra has signed a new contract to star in a film called “Saeed Harakat.”  She plays the role of a young woman that is unable to speak until she undergoes an operation.

 May is also preparing a new music album and will film video clips for a number of songs from the album.

May will combine her acting and singing talents in a future television series called “Fawazir Istradya” (Performance Guessing Show).
