Lebanese singer Maria’s business manager has denied circulating rumors that she has severed ties with Egyptian singer/director Jad Shweiri, director of all her clips.
The singer’s manager stressed that Jad remains her first choice as a director, and that Maria owes her success particularly to Jad’s efforts.
The singer recently completed filming her latest music video for her song “Bahibak Ad Eih” (I Love You So), under the direction of Jad in Rotana’s studios.
Jad chose a creative, romantic theme for the clip, which revolves around a young girl who is trapped inside a flower and seeks the help of her lover, played by a French model, to aid in her escape.
Maria announced her plans to market a new line of perfume, taking advantage of her recent upsurge in popularity. The singer’s new line, for women (Exciting Woman) and men (Exciting Man), was developed by Mahmoud Saeed Inc.
Until now, the singer has refused to accept any offer to star in a film, stressing that she wants to focus on her singing career and her performance in music videos is as far as she will go with regard to acting.
