Controversial Lebanese singer Maria has placed the final touches on her upcoming album, featuring eight songs in the Egyptian dialect.
Former Jordanian Star Academy participant Bashar Ghazawi composed the song "Ta'al" (Come) on the new album, and Maria will film a music video for the song under the direction of Egyptian Jad Shweiri, whom she recently made amends with after a series of misunderstandings.
Maria worked with Lebanese composers Zaher Al Baba and Talal Qantar on the new album, as well as Egyptian composer Sharif Taaj who presented her with the composition for the song "Nefertiti."
On a different note, Production Company ‘Al Sabki’ has reached an agreement with Maria, known as the ‘corn flakes singer,’ for a leading role in a new film.
‘Al Sabki’ cast the singer Marwa in the film "Haha and Tufaha," benefiting from her daring personality, and now hopes to do that same with Maria. According to the London based weekly, Sayidaty, Maria is expected to take part in a number of different films.
