The young Khaliji (Gulf) actress Maram, who is of Kuwaiti nationality, received the title of best actress for her role in the television drama series “Um Al Banat” (The Mother of Daughters) through a survey that was done by the Arab magazine “Saydati”.
The survey was done for the Ramadan of 2009 drama series and programs. the drama series “Um Al Banat” got first place for best Khaliji drama, and the leading star of the series famous Kuwaiti actress Souad Al Abdullah was chosen by viewers as best actress.
According to the London daily Elaph, there were many other famous Arab stars that won various awards for their Ramadan work. Among the winners were famous Egyptian actress Yusra where she won the title of best Egyptian actress for her role in the television drama series “Khas Jidan” (Very Confidential). The famous Egyptian actor Yehya Al Fakharani was also among the winners where he won the title of best actor for his role in the television drama series “Ibn Al Arndali”.
The famous satellite channel “MBC” won first place for having most viewers throughout the Arab world during the month of Ramadan.
