The Syrian Opera House witnessed a memorable performance by prominent Lebanese singer Majida Al Roumi, in which among the audience was Syrian Minister of Culture. Majida started the concert with an opening song greeting her Syrian audience and moved on to sing a collection of old and new songs that made the classical event a very successful one.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, this is the first time Majida visits Syria in the past thirteen years. The singer was accompanied by a very large chorus in addition to 60 musician lead by maestro Asaad Khoury.
Al Roumi was recently in Cairo where she met the famous producer Naser Mahrous to discuss a possible cooperation with him for her next album. Majida is trying to offer more songs to the youth in an attempt to attract a younger audience.
Majida's pervious cooperation with Naser was only in composing some of her songs and was never in producing. Nasser is said to be currently very busy these days after discovering the new singing star Shireen and focusing his attention on her.
Majida also revealed that she is preparing to shoot a music video for one of the songs from her upcoming album under the direction of internationally known director Stein Wakrun. The singer added that she also plans on shooting a second music video under the direction of Jamil Al Maghazi.
In her upcoming album, Majida has included a new song, which talks about the nature of her relationship with her husband and is her last message to him. In the song, Majida is indirectly telling her only love to return and begin a new life together forgetting all the hurt and pain that has taken over their lives. -Albawaba.com
