Agreements are currently signed with the Lebanese singer Majda AlRoomy to perform a number of musical shows in Cairo next March.
Majda insisted on two non-negotiable conditions. First, these shows should take place at the opera house’s large theatre. Secondly, she should be accompanied in her performance by the opera house’s orchestra. Other conditions could be negotiated.
The organizers have agreed to all of the Lebanese singer’s demands and an agreement has been signed with her to perform two musical shows in Cairo.
Meanwhile, attempts have been made to convince the renowned Lebanese singer Fairouze to perform a musical show in Cairo but so far, these efforts have not had any success. It should be mentioned that Fairouze performed one musical show at Beit Al Din in Beirut last summer where she sang some of her old songs together with compositions by her son Ziad Al Rahbani. The show was a great success.
