Famous Egyptian actress/belly-dancer Lucy has recently finished shooting the final scenes for the TV drama “Kanaria Wa Shourakah” (Kanaria and Co.), alongside Egyptian actors Farouq Al Fishawi and Summaya Al Ufi. Lucy asserted that her role in the drama is something completely different from what has done before. Adding that she agreed to accept the role immediately and in the first minute she was offered it.
She also denied that she has said earlier that she refuse to do any work for Egyptian TV because they did not show her drama “Kanaria Wa Shourakah” (Kanaria and Co.), during the holly month of Ramadan, saying that she does not perform for popularity because she already has it. Lucy added that the drama is a success regardless of the time of broadcasting. The decision, what to be shown on TV screens in Ramadan, does not depend on the quality of the drama but on the amount of advertising that has been made, which is an important factor in its success.
Lucy dedicated herself during Ramadan to her husband, home, and worshiping God. She also decided that she will give singing more focus in her life, and plans go into her first experience in this field directly after the end of the holly month. She plans on entering recording studios to record her first album, which will include nine songs, four of which will be shot as video clips, reported the Kuwaiti based daily, Al Qabas.
Egyptian director Ismail Abdul Hafez had stopped the filming of the TV drama series “Kanaryeh and Friends” for one week, when the leading actress Lucy passed out and fell into a sudden coma. The actress/dancer was shooting the scenes for one of the episode when she suddenly collapsed and was then rushed to hospital.
The reason behind Lucy’s sudden health failure was not revealed, except that she is currently in hospital getting the proper rest needed. It was added that Ismail had already fully completed the shooting of 15 episodes, which is the minimal requirement set by the Egyptian broadcasting company for any television drama series wanting to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan. –Albawaba.com
