Prominent Tunisian singer Latifa revealed that she refuses to waste her time watching satellite music channels and prefers to watch the Middle Eastern news channel Al Jazeera. The singer stressed that she is concerned in what is happening in Palestine and Iraq and what is the entire Arab nation is going through. What the musical channels are offering now is a true reflection to the deteriorating situation the Arab region is going through.
According to the London based daily, Al Sahrq Al Awsat newspaper, Latifa said that she likes Lebanese singer Haifa because she does not talk about anyone and works very hard to prove herself, regardless of the fact if she has the true talent to be a singer or not. About filming a documentary about her life Latifa revealed that her fan club on the internet suggested the idea, which one of the satellite channels liked, but added she would not go through it because she prefers to keep her personal life away from the scenes and does not wish to share it with anyone.
About reality TV Latifa said she doesn’t have the time to watch such programs and the people who watch it have nothing better to do, yet if they are popular then there must be a lot of people who like to watch them.
Latifa said that Mohammed Subhi wanted her to act in his new play and she agreed but when Mansour Rahbani offered her a role in his play “Hukim alri’yan” she did not hesitate for a moment because working with the Rahbanis was a dream come true. After a while of continuous pressure, the people start to demonstrate against the tyrant who at the end gives in and decide to have a shepherd called Sa’doon as his successor.
Latifa is performing the role of a servant who brings the milk for the king from Sa’doon and she used to tell the king how much Sa’doon hates his rule and complains about it.
