Tunisian singer Latifa denied recent allegations of imitating Asalah by hosting the new television program “Yallah Inghani” (Lets sing). Latifa stressed that her show was created before Asalah’s show “Sola” and it is very different in nature.

According to the internet website MBC.net, Latifa stated that never since the start of her career has she copied anyone and this fact is very apparent in the style of songs she releases.

Latifa noted that with all due respect to Asalah, who is considered to be one of the icons of Arab music and has a large of fans, “Yala Inghani” was created before “Sola” and they have completely different themes. Latifa added that she does not understand why such allegations were made.

With regards to her insistency on filming the program in Egypt despite the unstable conditions the country is witnessing, Latifa said that she wanted to defy the insecurity and fear people are living in the country that is considered the Hollywood of the East.
