Tunisian singer Latifa has denied rumors that she placed a five thousand dollar stipulation for her participation in any television program/show, stating she would never consider selling her appearance.
Latifa noted that she has refused to appear as a guest on a number of television shows, since many attempt to publicly humiliate singers by exposing the problems they face, reported the UAE based daily, Al Bayan.
Recently, Latifa was the guest of honor at the recent 25th Arab Children Congress (ACC) in Amman Jordan, alongside internationally renowned singer Ricky Martin.
During the event, organized by the Noor Al Hussein Foundation Performing Arts Centre, Latifa gave a lecture titled “Cultural Heritage as the key source for Excellence” to the different international missions.
After her lecture, UNICEF nominated Latifa as a Goodwill Ambassador. Latifa was granted the prestigious title as a reflection of her worthy efforts in the region.
Latifa also gave a special musical performance upon special request by the audience.
At a press conference held especially for the event, Latifa expressed her gratitude to Queen Nour Al Hussein, and praised her efforts to help children.
Upon her arrival in Jordan, Latifa learned that her good friend Tunisian singer Saber Al Riba’ee was giving a performance at the annual summer Jarrash music festival, and made arrangements to attend. After the concert, Saber told Latifa he was honored by her presence.
