On the 20th anniversary of the death of Egyptian musician Riyad Al Sunbati on September 9, his son has decided to release a rare recording of the lyrics Beini Wa Beinak (Between Me and You) composed by his late father for Fairouz 22 years ago.

This song is one of five that Fairouz has not yet officially recorded, and is still on a test cassette from back when the Lebanese diva was rehearsing with Sunbati senior.

Ahmed Al Sunbati, himself a singer and composer, told the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat that he had tried more than once to reach an agreement with Fairouz to sing these, songs that but she did not respond.

Therefore, Sunbati added, “I have decided to surprise my late father’s lovers with Fairouz’ voice on his anniversary.

“I have not nominated any other vocalists to sing the other lyrics composed by my late father,” he added.

More than 50 tunes by the late Sunbati are still unpublished and in the possession of his son.

Meanwhile, Fairouz will present to her audience in Lebanon and the Arab World a new musical album to be released in early October.

Fairouze will surprise her audience by returning them to the golden romantic era by singing Les mortes Feuilles by the late French artist Eve Montanne. The song is entitled Awraq Al Kharif (Autumn Leaves).

The new album consists of 10 songs, all of which were written and composed by her son Ziad Al Rahbani, including the song Inshallah Mabu Shee (I Wish There Was Nothing Wrong with Him).

The video is expected to be shot in Brussels - Albawaba.com
