Lebanese singer Katia Harb will return to the music scenes with her upcoming album “Katia”, which is scheduled to be released after the Muslim religious holiday Eid Al Fitir. The singer has revealed that her new album features different styles, which is to include songs sung in the Egyptian dialect a first time attempt for her.
The singer revealed that she will be heading to Egypt in the upcoming few days to shoot a new music video for the song “Aad El Hub” (Are You Up For Love) under the direction of Egyptian director Othman Abu Al Laban. The singer is also scheduled to be a guest on several Ramadan television talk shows.
Harb has gained popularity and fame throughout the past eight years, which marks the time of her singing career, by singing songs in the Lebanese accent, Khaleeji (Gulf), as well as in foreign languages. Katia revealed that she will release her fourth album this spring sung mainly in the Egyptian accent, a first time experience for her. The album's songs are written by poet Bahjat Amar and composed by Amro Mustafa.
Harb denied rumors circulating in early January of this year of any recent engagement while in the US on tour alongside Egyptian singer Ehab Tawfic. For her part, Harb expressed her disturbance towards the rumors that are affecting her personal life saying that they hold no truth to them and are a failed attempt to defame her in addition to the fact that she did not get a divorce from her husband a matter, which would make any news of a recent engagement invalid. The singer announced that she is happily married and the thought of divorce would never cross her mind.
Harb, who is lately known as the James bond girl for her new look in the latest music video "Ma fina" (We Can't), has received several invitations from the Arab community in the US. She finally accepted the invitations and arranged visits to six US states, some of which are Michigan, Houston and Atlantic City.
Shooting “Ma Fina” song, written by Talaal Haidar and composed by Ghi Manukyan, the James Bond Girl has twisted her leg jumping from a high wall down to the ground. The music video has demanded a lot of physical power from Harb and was an adventurous one.
The Golden medal graduate of 'Studio al Fan' will be working on her new album which is expected to carry a new style for Harb and will include several poets and composers from Egypt and Lebanon, such as Amr Mustafa, Aiman Bahgat, Waleed Sa’d, Marwan Khoury and many others. - Albawaba.com
