Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher has nominated Egyptian actress Hanan Turk to be the leading star of his upcoming music video for the song “Takoleen Al Hawa” (You Say Love), instead of Egyptian actress Shireen Saif Nasr. Hanan has expressed her joy and honor to be chosen by Kathem and agreed immediately saying that she holds such high respect for the singer and is one of his biggest fans.
Hanan also stressed that she is grateful for Kathem for the timing of his offer, saying that he was able to bring her a spark of joy in a time where she is in most need, especially after the breakup between her and her husband. She added Kathem had surprised her with his offer and once she read the script she knew that she could not resist especially since the song calls for an actress and not just a pretty face, reported the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat.
The odd thing in the matter is the fact that no specific reason was given as to why Kathem had changed his mind suddenly about Shireen’s nomination. The singer had held extensive negotiations with Shireen and she finally agreed to appear in El Saher’s music video, which is originally written by the late prominent Lebanese poet Nizar Qabani. The video is to be filmed in Cairo under the direction of Muhsin Ahmad.
The negotiations began when Kathem made a personal call to Shireen during his stay in France and offered her for the leading role in his new clip, and read the words of the song to her, which she was mesmerized by, asking to be given some time to think the matter over carefully. Shireen had requested that once Kathem reaches Cairo they hold a one on one meeting to further discuss the details.
Once the two met and Shireen learned all the details regarding the music video, she gave her initial acceptance and began preparing for the filming of the clip which will take one whole week to complete. Shireen stressed that if it wasn’t for her admiration to Kathem and his music and her love of Nizar Qabani’s poetry, she would not have accepted the role in the clip.
One a different note, Turk has recently been involved in serious marital problems that led her husband to throw her and their children out in the streets. Their case was taken to court, and the two are now busy with filing lawsuits against one another. The incident has caused Hanan to fall into a severe depression not knowing what led her life to turn upside down like that.
Hanan had recently decided to take time off work to be with her husband and two children and announced that she will head off on a summer vacation to Hurghada Marina, where they had been spending the past two weeks alone with the children Marina redecorating their new home. Hanan had felt that the time is just right for her vacation, especially after the hectic schedule she has had. The actress added that she is now more at peace since her latest film “Sahar Aliali” (Staying up All-night) has proven to be a huge success bringing in enormous profit. –Albawaba.com
