Currently Playing: Jon Cryer goes Oliver Stone as conspiracy theorist Zack Mango, one of four paranoid guys who are convinced the world is out to get them in ABC's new sitcom The Trouble with Normal. The nervous New Yorkers bond over group therapy and their babelicious therapist, Claire (Paget Brewster).
Back in the Day: Cryer is best known for his role as Duckie Dale, the new-wave geek secretly in love with his best friend, Andie Walsh (Molly Ringwald), in Pretty in Pink. Duckie doesn't get the girl in this classic pic, in which prom is the center of the universe.
The Missing Years: Cryer's no stranger to television, having worked on various series for the past 15 years. But, unfortunately, most of the shows were duds. Remember The Famous Teddy Z, Heads and Getting Personal? Yeah, no one else does, either. But Cryer isn't giving up on the medium and has some advice for his film costars making the jump to television: "Everybody thinks they're deigning to do television, but actually, there's so much great stuff on television right now. So, don't get snotty, Mr. Big Movie Man. We're all just working schlubs."
