Young Lebanese singer Jinni is releasing a new children’s song called “Aklik Mineen Ya Bata” (Where Should I Start Eating You Ducky), written and composed by Aziz Al Shaf’ie. The new song will be included in Jinni’s new album to be released soon.
According to the London daily Elaph, Jinni said that she considers her new song a present to all children because she adores them and believes they are God’s best creations. In her early childhood Jinni enjoyed listening to Lebanese singer Sabah’s famous song “Aklik Mineen Ya bata.” Jinni said her song and Sabah’s have the same name but the lyrics and rhythm are different.
Nancy Ajram was among the first Arab pop stars to release children’s songs. She released a whole album called “Shakhbat Shakhabeet” (Scratch Doodle).
Some have accused Jinni of copying Nancy, but Jinni says that Arab kids need lots of meaningful songs instead of the usual video clips with seductive moves.
IJinni just finished filming a music video for the song ‘Arab Mini” (Come Closer To Me). Filming took place in Lebanon and it will be aired on music satellite channels in the coming days.
