Producer Jamal Marwan, owner of ‘Melody’ satellite channels, has filed a lawsuit against Lebanese singer Qamar accusing her of sending him SMS messages that contain profanity and insults, in addition to threatening to cause him and his family harm.

Jamal stated that Qamar’s actions are due to disputes that erupted between them over work matters and to try and get out of a twelve year contract she had signed with ‘Melody’. Jamal added that Qamar wants to end the contract without paying the penalty and due compensation. The court has postponed the hearing for Jamal’s case against Qamar to October 15 in order to make time to submit all supporting documents by both sides.

Disputes had erupted between Jamal and Qamar at the beginning of the current year after Qamar announced that she is pregnant with Jamal’s child, out of wedlock. Qamar stated at the time that Jamal’s mother, Muna Jamal Abd Al Naser, knew of the intimate relationship between her son and Qamar. Qamar had filed a lawsuit against Jamal and demanded that a DNA test be done to prove he is the father of her child, but Jamal had failed to perform the test and flew off to the United States.
