Israeli officials have decided to forbid Tunisian singer Saber Riba’ee from entering Palestine to hold a concert in the city of Ariha, which recently came under control of the Palestinian authority.
According to the London based Elaph, the singer was scheduled to hold a number of concerts in Palestinian cities.
Head of Swisthelp, one of the largest Palestinian Corporations today, Alexander Haddad, stated that his company faced significant financial losses due to the decision.
“My company spent a large amount of money on advertising campaigns for the concerts, and it all vanished into thin air after the Israeli decision,” Alexander stated.
“Tickets were almost sold out, and the prohibition by Israeli officials was a total let down for our company and Palestinian fans that had an inkling of hope that a major artist would perform live in the occupied lands,” he continued.
Alexander argued that banning singers from performing in Palestine is unjust and Israeli officials must have legitimate reasons for not allowing Saber to enter.
Banning entertainment just compounds the misery of occupation, he contended.
