The famous Lebanese artist Najwa Karam hosted two live concerts in the northern Iraqi cities Irbeel and Suleimanyeh.
The first concert was held at the High City Hall in Irbeel, drawing 1,300 fans from across Iraq. The celebration included a performance by a Lebanese folklore dance group.
Najwa’s two hour performance featured a collection of her greatest hits, while Iraqi fans danced and sang with her. At the end of her performance Najwa received a plaque as a symbol of appreciation from the Iraqi people.
According to the London daily Elaph, Najwa’s second concert in Suleimanyeh was also a success, drawing 1,000 fans. At the end of her two hour performance Najwa said that she hopes other artists will host concerts in Iraq and she concluded by wishing the Iraqi people the best.
