Egyptian actress Ilham Shahine is currently undergoing major talks with director Samir Seif in order to convince him to work with her on a movie entitled Karjola (name), which deals with the issue of the Lebanese resistance against Israeli occupation in the South.
According to Al Sharq El Awsat newspaper, Shahine said “the script has been with me for a long time and it has been shelved because of production problems, since it requires great financial resources. It would be very crucial to shoot the picture in its natural setting; But, this was an impossibility taking into considertion the Israeli occupation of the south.”
The actress added “I decided to produce the film using my own resources if I don’t find a suitable producer.”
Shahine confirmed rumors that this move on her part is the main reason she now wishes to go through with the project as soon as possible.
She added that she believes that this film would be the best support I can give the current Palestinian ‘Al Aqsa’ Intifada.
Especially, she added, since the film “verifies that victory over Israel is not impossible.”
Meanwhile, Shahine is getting ready for the film and choosing the proper star and shooting locations. However, she is also currently busy with some work on shows for the upcoming Ramadan lineup. – Albawaba.com.
