Tunisian singer Hind Sabri denies rumors that she has gotten engaged to Syrian actor Basil Khayat. Hind stressed that her acting career is her primary concern in life, and that she has no plans of marriage.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Hind appeared with Basil for the first time three months ago at the special preview of her film “Khali min el Cholesterol” (Cholesterol Free) alongside prominent Egyptian actress Elham Shahin. At the screening, Hind introduced Basil to critics and journalists, pointing out that he starred in the film “Bab Al Shams,” which was being screened in Egypt at the time.
On a different note, Hind received an award for “Best Actress” for her role in the film “Ahla Al Awqat” (The Best of Times), during an awards ceremony at the Journalists Association in Egypt. This is the fourth award she has received for her role in the past year.
Critics have celebrated her performance, stating she played the role to perfection, “as if she was truly an Egyptian girl.
All of the film’s leading roles are played by women, a precedent for Egyptian cinema history. The film is also a first time experience for Egyptian director Hala Khalil and scenarist Wisam Sulieman. The three lead actresses, Hanan, Muna Shalabi, and Hind Sabri are also good friends in real life.
Hind expressed her sincere gratitude upon the receiving the award.
