Producer Ahmad Ghaith has denied that Egyptian actor Nabila Obeid will play the role of "Fatima Al Yousif" in the new television drama series "Ana Sa?eeda Lakad Akalo Lahmi" (I'm Happy they ate my Flesh), and that the drama will be screened during the holy month of Ramadan.
Ahmad assured that the script of the drama is not yet complete, and the drama Nabila will appear in during Ramadan is "Hirasa Mushadadah" (Heavy Security), written by Mustafa Abrahim and directed by Khaled Al Hajjar.
Ghaith revealed that the reason Nabila chose this particular drama was because she thought it would provide her with a new style and a vehicle for a strong comeback after the severe criticism she received for her television drama "Al Ama Nour" (Aunt Noor).
A budget of nine million Egyptian pounds has been set for the drama, reported the UAE based daily, Al Bayan.
Obeid is trying to breathe life into a new singing career through her upcoming film "Ma Feesh Ghair Kida" (Nothing Besides This) that features 12 different musical performances.
The story revolves around a single mother struggling to raise her son and two daughters after her husband deserted them at a young age.
The film, directed by Khaled Al Hajjar, stars young Egyptian actors Sawsan Badr, Ahmad Azmi, Khaled Abu El Naja and new comer Arwa Joudeh, who play the roles of her children.
Throughout the course of the film, the family's status is changed when one of the daughters becomes famous. Nabila and her children perform a song written especially for them by Kawthar Haikal.
