Hannan Turk at the UNESCO

Egyptian actress Hannan Turk is currently in Syria filming outdoor scenes for her upcoming movie “Al Aba’ Al Sighar” (Young Fathers) costarring prominent Syrian actor Duraid Laham, who is also the writer and director of the film.

 

According to the London based Elaph, in the film Hannan plays the role of an Egyptian who comes to Syria on a mission to preserve historical places as part of her job with UNESCO. While in Syria she can not afford to live alone, and arranges to rent a room in a local’s home.

 

The home belongs to Duraid, who is a widowed father. Hannan becomes an older sister to his kids, who are trying to help their father complete his education despite the hardships he faced after the death of his wife.

 

The film will be shot on location in Cairo and Damascus, along with a number of locations around the Arab world.

 

Hannan stated that when Duraid offered her a role she did not hesitate to accept, explaining that it is an honor to work with such a renowned actor and she believes the film will bolster her career
