Prominent Egyptian singer Hani Shaker has denied rumors that he has amassed a fortune of 33 million US dollars.
According to the London based weekly, Sayidaty, Hani noted that his wealth is not even one tenth of that amount. Hani stressed that to make such a large sum of money a person must have different commercial projects, and not only a singing career.
Recently Hani and the late Laila Murad were both honored at the 14th round of the Arabic Music Festival held on November 18 at the Cairo Opera House.
During a press conference Hani held at the end of his tour around the USA and Canada he publicly stated, “The music Egyptian singer Ruby and others of her kind present is not considered real art, but rather nonsense and against all ethical standards.”
The tour marks Hani’s return to Canada after a five year absence.
“Ruby’s music is a distraction that lacks meaning…. and merely a provocative way to attract and seduce people,” Hani added.
