Egyptian actress Hanan Turk asked Samir Al Asfouri director of the play “Tara’iou” who is currently acting in with Egyptian comedian Mohammad Huneidi, to halt any performances for the upcoming two-weeks. Her request came due to the fact that she will be travelling to Alexandria followed by Brazil to complete the shooting of her new film “Arabi Ta’reefoh” (It's Arabic) with comedian Alaa’ Wali El Din, his debut after a two-year absence from the scenes. Alaa’ will play the role of a naïve customs official who get himself into many problems due to his innocence and foolishness.
Turk told the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Hanan that she suggested another actress substitute for her leading role so as not to cause any delay for the presentation of the play during the winter season, but nothing came of it as of now. Despite the inconvenience her absence will cause, Hanan insists on flying off to shoot the scenes for her new movie saying that the film has already been postponed too many times. She added that the film holds more priority and any further delay will not enable the film to come out in time for its suggested release during the summer.
Turk’s latest TV work was the Ramadan drama “Ameera Fi Abdeen” (Ameera in Abdeen) alongside Egyptian actress Samira Ahmad. Her latest movie was "Al Secretera" (The Secretary), with director Mohammed Al Naggar and writer Naser Abdul Rahman, in which she expresses her happiness playing the lead role in a comedy.
Turk first burst onto the scene in 1991, as she co-starred with Nadia Al Gindi and Mahmoud Hemeida in "Raghba Motawahesh" (A Savage Desire). Since then, she managed to make her mark on Arab audiences. The twenty-six year old star was one of three children, managed to enter the acting world after years of intensive ballet courses that got her noticed by film executives.
