Egyptian actress Hala Shiha has been chosen for the leading role in the upcoming film “Ureed Khal’an” (I Want a Divorce), and will costar alongside Ashraf Abdul Baqi.
Egyptian actress Muna Shalabi was first offered the role, but due to previous commitments to two other films, she was replaced by Hala.
Hala is also filming “Ghawi Hubb” alongside Egyptian singer Mohammad Foad.
The film, produced by Al Adel Group, revolves around the social issue of divorce and the agony women go through, even when they are the one requesting it.
Hala stated that she wants to remain in the scenes in order to retain her popularity and appeal among the tough competition posed by numerous new actresses.
Hala denied rumors that she demanded inflated wages, which lead to her absence from television. The actress stated that her participation in the new television drama “Raj’elik Ya Iskindiria” (I’m Coming Back Alexandria) is proof that the stories are a fallacy.
Hala stated that she feels producers have given her fair wages for her roles, and the reason she has not taken part in television dramas as of late, is due to her preoccupation with different films.
