Ever since Egyptian singer Hakim's divorce trial with his first wife Marwa Shahin and all the problems that came with it were cooled down and the two reached a truce for the time being, Hakim has been enjoyed being far away from lawyers and lawsuits. His peace of mind to his disappointment did not last long when he was shocked to receive a new lawsuit filed against him, but this time by his second wife Jihan Iskandar.

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Jihan had filed a complaint against her husband demanding marital alimony after Hakim had left her. Marwa had demanded a retrial after a Cairo court’s ruling denying her the right for a divorce. Marwa stressed that she is not willing to accept the verdict and filed a second complaint against her husband demanding she be granted a divorce. The court granted Marwa a second hearing on May 24, in which she will present her case once more in the hope that the final ruling will be in her favor and she is granted the divorce from Hakim.

The court had dismissed and rejected the divorce case of Marwa against her husband based on the fact that not enough sufficient evidence was found against Hakim for his wife to ask for a divorce.

Marwa had filed her first complaint against her husband for not paying child support and alimony since June 2002. She also demanded he pay the wages of five servants in addition to their children's school tuition that amounts to 7100 US dollars.

The court found Hakim not guilty of negligence towards his wife and children, with proof that he paid all due child support and alimony. The court also found Marwa's case not valid due to the fact that when she filed the complaint against her husband for beating her, her father had accompanied her as the only eye witness, in turn making her complaint invalid.

Hakim's wife filed for the divorce in November last year, following her husband's act of betrayal with his so-called second wife. Marwa expressed resentment to her husband's 'unbearable' acts, which started a year ago with his frequent absence from home. "He used to leave us behind with no money, he showed no attention or care to me or his two kids," explained Marwa. – Albawaba.com
