Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi has revealed her she is in the process of preparing for her first role on the big screen in the new Egyptian film “Rasae’ Al Bahr” (Letters from Sea). Haifa is to star alongside prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki, and the first scenes are scheduled to be filmed immediately after Ahmad completes the filming of his current film “Haleem”.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Haifa has become to known as a woman of many talents, first as a fashion model, then a singer, and now an actress. The singer has admitted that she does have some fears about entering the acting world, but stressed that she cannot turn down the opportunity of acting alongside Ahmad.
Director Dawood Abdul Alsaid nominated Haifa for the leading role alongside prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki in the film. Wahbi has given her initial acceptance for the role, marking her first experience in the acting world.
The director has also nominated Olympics wrestling gold medalist Karam Jaber to take part in the film, also marking the first time he takes part in the cinema.
The music satellite channel Rotana is finally ready to release the latest music video by Wahbi “Bidi Eish” (I Want to Live) on its popular show Awal Mara (The First Time) later this week. The clip was filmed under the direction of Lebanese director Saeed Al Marouq, marking his first cooperation with Haifa.
Saeed revealed that the new clip for Haifa features an idea never presented before showing her in four different phases. The first phase of the clip Haifa is seen born again like a butterfly, who begins the struggle to live. Saeed noted that the clip is in fact the story of Haifa’s journey, which features good and bad times and ends with her reaching her dream of being on top.
