Lebanese rising singer Haifa Wahbi held a spectacular performance at the Lido Stage in Paris that was marked with success by the large number of Arabs who attended coming from all around Europe especially for the event. Haifa was part of the Oriental Magic Festival, in which a number of Arab singers participated in like UAE singer Ahlam.
According to the London based Elaph, the Lido festival is one of many festivals Haifa has taken part in this summer, adding tremendous success and increasing her popularity. Haifa had worn a splendid white dress made especially by internationally known Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad for the event. The singer has revealed that she will resume preparations for her upcoming album and is hopeful it will be as successful as her first.
Recently and in an attempt to return to the spotlight, Lebanese artist Fadi Lebanon, Lebanese diva Sabah’s ex-husband, has announced that his comeback will be through an enormous new musical which he is currently working on and is waiting for the right producer to adopt his work. It was revealed that the name of Haifa has come up numerous times as she is to be nominated to take part in Fadi’s musical. The news of Haifa joining Fadi has not been confirmed, for Haifa has not given her acceptance to the matter so far.
Haifa had denied circulating rumors that she is undergoing extensive lessons to improve her speech skill in order to become a TV announcer. The singer said that she had never took any such lessons and has no plans to enter the world of television broadcasting wanting to focus her attention on her music career.
Egyptian controversial director Enas Al Deghaidi denied circulating rumors that there is a dispute between her and Wahbi over a role in her upcoming film “Al Bahithat An Al Huria” (Girls Seeking Freedom). Enas stressed that Haifa was the one who turned down the offer for a leading role in the film despite her interest in the part.
Haifa had previously expressed that she finds the role to be very daring and is not afraid to accept, but later on she realized that she does not possess the talent to undergo an acting career and so turned down the role. Enas had offered to give Haifa private acting lessons, but the singer refused saying the time has not come for her to go into acting.
Enas had previously nominated Haifa instead of Lebanese actress Nour, for a leading role in her film, to play the part of Lebanese girl who lives in Paris-France. The film would have marked Haifa’s first leading role ever offered throughout her career.
At first Haifa had given her initial acceptance and so Enas she began all the necessary preparations and alterations needed for the film in order to begin shooting the scenes. But after Haifa declined the part, Enas began negotiating an offer with Tunisian actress Hind Sabri. -Albawaba.com
