According to the London daily Elaph, sultry Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbe was named the “most popular star” for 2007 by Palestinians.
The survey was taken by “Link” magazine, published in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Palestinians are still living life, despite the tough economic and political conditions under Israeli military occupation.
Haifa said that she was proud to be voted the most popular celebrity by a nation who she admires. “I am very grateful,” said Haifa.
Haifa welcomes the idea of giving a live concert performance in the Occupied Territories; however, there would be difficulties in obtaining a visa. Palestinian fans are welcome in Lebanon and anywhere she sings, added Haifa.
