Egyptian singer and actress Donia Samir Ghanem was dumfounded by recent rumors claiming that she and actor Ahmed Mekki have frequent arguments. The pair have co-starred in many movies together but the rumors of their infighting began right around the time that Donia decided not to take part in the Ramadan drama series race.

In a statement to Arabia.net, Donia shared her astonishment at the spread of the rumors that she and Mekki were in disputes, especially since they started spreading right after her engagement to TV host Rami Radwan.  These rumors have been strongly denied by Donia and she mentioned that in contrast to the gossip, she greatly values her friendship with Mekki, adding that he is a good friend on the personal and professional level.

Donia clarified that she kept, "reading and hearing" these rumors that she thought were weird,  and wondered who would foster such absurd gossip.

On another note, Donia said that she wasn't upset with the postponement of the series, "One Thousand and One Nights" until next Ramadan, assuring her fans that with every delay, only good can result.  The airing of the series was delayed because  some work on the graphics of the series still needed to be done.

She commented that, "there is no purpose in rushing the filming just so that it may be seen this Ramadan at the cost of it not being well produced.”

This is also the opinion of distinguished director Tareq Al Eryan, who agrees that some parts of the series depend highly on graphics, which means that it will take more time. Instead of rushing the airing of the series it was decided to postpone airing it until Ramadan 2013, so that it may be done properly.

In addition to Donia and Ahmad, the series "One Thousand and One Nights" also stars Amer Abdel Jaleel,  Ghada Abdul Razaq, Eyad Nasar, and Nicole Saba, among many others.
