Over 1,200 participants from 60 countries took part in the Muscat Festival, said Sheikh Mansour bin Sulaiman al Nabhani, head of Muscat Festival’s public relations committee.
They took part in sports activities, exhibitions, crafts shows, folklore performances, concerts, carnivals, games and entertainment and amusement shows. The foreign participants were taken on sailing trips, to Sharqiyah Sands and historical sites in Nizwa by the municipality.
He said the committee worked with different government agencies such as the Ministry of Health, ROP and the Ministry of Tourism, to accommodate the visitors.
Nabhani also thanked the agencies for their support in providing services to help streamline the festival. He said this allowed the festival to show the world Oman’s heritage and culture.
