Saudi director Abdel Khaleq al Ghanem began shooting the series Shwayyet Melh (Little Salt) which he directs and stars at the same time, according to the daily al Riyadh.
In the new series Ghanem depicts a new type of work in which the fans participate with the cast during the series shooting through overseeing all the details from behind the camera. An episode starts from the studio, which was established in Bahrain for hat purpose. Then the viewers move on along with the team to the traditional locations such as houses and outdoor shooting locations such as mountains and sea.
Preparations for the 27-episode series started two years ago when Ghanem organized a workshop attended by the artists Abdel Mohsen al Nimer, Samir al Naser who scripted the series, Jaafar al Ghareeb and Abdel Aziz al Ismael who participated in the script of some episodes. The team also established what they described as Little Salt Club with an advertisement calling all those with previous experience or even beginners to participate in their project.
The team will return from Bahrain to complete the series shooting in the Saudi Arabian Cities of al Dammam, al Hasa and Jubail. One episode may be shot in India where the necessary landscapes including waterfalls are available -- Albawaba.com
