The Lebanese diva Fairouz will perform Monday a concert at the theater of the American University of Dubai with the proceeds to be allocated for establishing an autism center in Dubai and enhancing its activities, according to the UAE daily al Bayan.

The secretary general of Dubai’s Center for Autism, Mohammed Amin al Emadi announced this in a press conference Saturday morning and attended by Faten Azzam on behalf of Fairouz.

Azzam said that Fairouz’s visit to Dubai this year would be under the banner “Autistic Child” on whom she focuses all her attention.

From Beirut Fairouz expressed her delight with performing a concert in Dubai in order to help Dubai’s Center for Autism indicating that the concert’s proceeds would be allocated in full to bolster the efforts of a group of young volunteers. These volunteers took the responsibility of a noble task to help the children suffering from autism and alleviate the suffering of their parents.

“Children are the future and autistic children should find their own safe world. I hope my voice will reach them tomorrow in their coercive solitude. It is very painful for me to see some children isolated from their surroundings without caring for life and everything in it,” said Fairouz.

She added, “The pains of children in the Arab world in general and Palestine in particular who live under oppression, injustice and deprivation are in my mind. My only consolation to address them all is my voice.” – Albawaba.com
