Lebanese singers Nawal El Zoughbi and Fadel Shaker are scheduled to head to the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />United States of America in March to hold a tour that will last for up to one month around different states. The tour will take the two artists to Las Vegas, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, and New Jersey.
According to the London base Elaph, the tour is expected to find significant success due to the fact that the two singers enjoy a lot of popularity among Arabs living in the United States.
On a different note, The problem between prominent Lebanese singer and song writer Fadi Suleiman over who wrote Fadel’s latest hit “Saharni El Shouq” has worsened with regards to who really owns the right to the song. Many attempts to set a meeting between the two men to try and resolve the matter peacefully have failed with each refusing to give the rights to the other.
Fadel denied allegations by Fadi that he had stole the song and put it in his name, stressing that such actions are against everything he stands for. Fadel added that he is constantly offered thousands of songs by different song writers and only chooses ones that hold significant value adding to his career.
Fadi stressed to one of the newspapers that he was the one who wrote the words of the song, but Fadel had claimed that it belonged to him. Fadi revealed that he had gone to the Composers and Poets Association to place the song in his name, but his request was denied, due to the fact that to have a song placed in anyone’s name they must have at least six others sung by singers.
The recent hectic schedule Nawal has had from holding concerts around the Arab world has ended in the singer catching a severe cold leading her to remain in bed. Doctors have ordered the singer to remain home and refrain from holding any entertaining activities until she regains her health.
